📸 Your Washington Elopement Guide

Hey you two lovebirds!
First off— CONGRATULATIONS on planning your elopement! Whether you’re trekking into the woods, wandering along the coast, or saying “I do” under the shadow of towering peaks, Washington is one of the most magical places to elope. I’m beyond excited to capture your adventure and help make it unforgettable.
Inside this little guide, you’ll find some of my favorite spots across the state—from iconic must-sees to hidden gems that feel like your own private wonderland. Let’s get into it! 🌲💍
🌲 Wild Wonder: Olympic National Park
📍 The whole peninsula
Olympic is massive and diverse—there’s something for everyone. You can elope in a moss-draped rainforest (hello, Hoh Rainforest), on a glacier-capped mountain like Hurricane Ridge, or beside a quiet lake like Crescent. It’s nature’s playground, and it’s stunning year-round.
Vibe : Wild, varied, enchanting
Best For : Couples who want to explore multiple ecosystems or get away from crowds
Pro Tip : Permits are required for ceremonies here—don’t worry, I’ll help with that!

🌊 Coastal Classic: Ruby Beach
📍 Olympic National Park
Want that misty, moody, PNW coastal vibe? Ruby Beach is calling. With driftwood, sea stacks, and tidepools, this is one of the most photogenic places in the state. Perfect for barefoot vows, wind-swept hair, and epic golden hour portraits.
Vibe : Romantic, dramatic, coastal
Best For : Sunset elopements or cozy, overcast mornings
Pro Tip : Plan around the tides—we’ll make sure there’s enough beach for your ceremony!

🏔 Majestic Icon: Mount Rainier National Park
📍 South-Central Washington
If you’re dreaming of jaw-dropping mountain views, wildflower meadows, and a truly iconic Pacific Northwest vibe—Mount Rainier is your place. It’s one of the most recognizable landscapes in the state, and it makes for an absolutely magical elopement backdrop.
There are several stunning entrances to the park, but some of the most popular for elopements include:
- Paradise Entrance (South Side) : Known for its panoramic views, wildflowers in July–August, and classic alpine lodge feel.
- Sunrise Entrance (East Side) : The highest driveable point in the park—with incredible morning light, ridge views, and a bit more seclusion.
- Nisqually Entrance : This is the one with the famous “Mount Rainier National Park” wooden sign—perfect for a “we made it!” photo as you enter the adventure of a lifetime.
Vibe :Â Wild, cinematic, romantic
Best For : Couples who love epic landscapes, wildflower fields, and don’t mind a little driving or light hiking
Pro Tip : Rainier is best accessed from late July to early October . Earlier in the season, many trails and roads are still snow-covered!

đź’Ž Hidden Gem: Lake 22
📍 North Cascades Region
This trail is an absolute dream. A lush, heavy/moderate hike through mossy forests that leads you to an alpine lake tucked beneath dramatic cliffs. The reflections on a calm day are unreal. Think: a peaceful ceremony on the lake’s edge, surrounded by evergreens and the sounds of nature. Best in late spring through early fall. Though this hike isn’t considerably long at 5.4 mile round trip, it does have a large elevation gain of 1,400ft, so be ready for the exercise!
Vibe : Intimate, foresty, and adventurous
Best For : Couples who love a little adventure and don’t mind hiking boots with their wedding attire
Pro Tip : Sunrise elopements here are magical and way more private
🏔 Bonus Picks
- Snoqualmie Pass (Gold Creek Pond) : An easy-access spot with beautiful lake and mountain backdrops
- Artist Point (Mt. Baker area) : Absolutely breathtaking alpine views, especially in fall
🧠A Few Planning Tips
- Permits : Most national parks and some trailheads require a permit for ceremonies. I can help guide you through that process.
- Best Season to Elope : Late summer to early fall (July–October) offers the best weather and trail access.
- Weekdays = More Privacy : Trust me—Monday vows feel just as magical as Saturday ones, and you’ll have more space to yourselves.
- What to Pack : Vows, license, layers (PNW weather loves to surprise us), comfy shoes, snacks, and a sense of adventure!
